Sinopsis Video
The 1930s witnessed a marked increase in the number of female Malay children going to school. This created the need for a special college to train and produce female Malay teachers to teach girls at the primary school level. When the Malay Women’s Training College first opened its doors, it provided opportunities for females in the country to become teachers. The British government looked for the right place for the college, and finally settled on Malacca due to its strategic location. There was also a hospital in Malacca that was no longer in use. The buildings were renovated and converted to suit the purpose at minimal cost. The Malay Women’s Training College or MWTC was officially opened on thirty first January 1935.
